Creation under s. 720, f.s. for Ombudsman duties

We need to support SB 1296.
This bill provides several necessary protections for members of Homeowners’ Associations, The bill creates the Office of the Homeowners’ Association Ombudsman within the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. It defines the duties of the Ombudsman and it also directs the Governor to appoint an ombudsman; and requires the Ombudsman to be an attorney admitted to practice before the Florida Supreme Court.
In addition, the bill provides that the ombudsman (and officers and full-time employees of the office) cannot participate in certain activities, or receiving certain remuneration (to prevent favors or other incentives); providing for the administration of an election monitoring process. Such measures reduce risk of bribery, or incentives.
